Merino wool is a 100% natural fibre grown by millions of sheep sustained by water, fresh air, sunlight and grass.

At a microscopic level, each Merino wool fibre behaves like a tiny coiled spring. After being bent or compressed, it naturally returns to its original shape. This gives Merino wool garments excellent resistance to creasing, making them easier to care for.

Merino wool is also one of the most breathable natural fibres. It can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapour and gradually release it into the air, helping the wearer remain dry and comfortable throughout the day.

Unlike many synthetic fabrics, Merino wool actively responds to changes in body temperature. It retains warmth when temperatures fall, while releasing excess heat and moisture when the body becomes warmer.

Merino wool can also trap the molecules responsible for perspiration odours, which are then released during washing. This helps garments stay fresher for longer.

Its exceptionally fine fibres can bend much more easily than those of traditional wool. This is what gives extrafine Merino wool its characteristic softness and makes it comfortable and gentle even when worn directly against the skin.

Most Merino wool garments can be washed in a domestic washing machine at 30°C using a delicate wool cycle, making everyday care simple and practical.
