EP. 2 – Who Actually Makes Maglificio di Verona Knitwear?

Yes, here we are again!
This is the second episode of our new content series, created to take you inside the heart of our world, let you experience our everyday life and show you, step by step, how our knitwear is made here at Maglificio di Verona.

Every garment we create tells a story made of passion, care, expertise and, above all, hands. Real hands. Today, we are taking you inside one of our most important departments: the sample-making department.

This is where everything begins to take shape.
In this special corner of our knitwear factory, ideas become reality, intuitions are transformed into interwoven yarns and inspiration becomes a real garment. A special team works in this department: three very young women, full of enthusiasm and eager to learn, guided by our veteran knitwear programmer, a true institution within our company. He is not only an experienced technician, but also a patient mentor, able to pass on his knowledge while always looking towards the future.

Their task?
Anything but simple. They have to study every technical and creative detail: the right yarn, the most suitable yarn count and the perfect machine tension. They design the stitches, set up the programmes and assess every possible variation. It is a job that requires precision, but also intuition, taste, experience and creativity.

This is where the first prototype of every knitted garment is created.
It is called a “sample”, and it is the model we continue to work on until the result remains faithful to the original idea while also being wearable, harmonious and well balanced. Once it has been knitted, every garment is carefully assembled, inspected and measured. Then comes the correction stage, during which every small flaw or imbalance is adjusted. As artisans, we know that perfection does not truly exist – but we enjoy pursuing it every day with determination.

Once approved, the sample garment becomes the reference model for the entire production process. In this way, a simple idea becomes something tangible and wearable, carrying with it all the passion behind our craft.

So, who makes the knitwear by Maglificio di Verona?
We do. Every single piece. One by one. And we have been doing it with pride since 1975.
This year, we celebrate our 50th anniversary – half a century of history, tradition and innovation woven together like the yarns in our knitwear. 🧶🥳
